Student Information

SETAC-AU has a proud history of supporting and mentoring students, to help make the transition from student to professional an easier journey. The society actively encourages participation of students, and this year’s conference is no exception to that ethos. Student participation is welcomed through a number of initiatives listed below – follow the links to fully investigate further:

• Student Mentoring Program, which includes a Buddy System breakfast

• Student social function, limited to student participants only.

• SETAC-AU Student travel awards, up to 10 awards available to aid student participation in the conference. Please note that to be eligible to submit an application for the travel award, you must have submitted an abstract.

• Student Presentation Awards - best oral presentation and best poster.

• SETAC-AU Thesis Prize - up to 2 prizes awarded per year and includes travel scholarship and guaranteed oral presentation slot at the conference

• Student co-chairs for concurrent sessions - session chairs, when reviewing submitted abstracts, may approach students in their final year of candidature that are conducting research in a similar field to assist with the process of chairing a session. This process gives students valuable exposure to the role of organising and conducting conference sessions.
